Pramila Ambardekar, age 96, of Rhodes, Iowa passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023 at Southridge Specialty Care of Marshalltown.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials can be directed to the American Heart Association. For additional information or to send a condolence to the family, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234.
Pramila was born September 24, 1927 in India. She was the daughter of Gajanan and Sarasvati Ambekar. Pramila attended high school, and in 1944, she married Vaman Dattatreya Ambardekar. She was a very devoted and caring person, and she loved spending time with family (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). She enjoyed reading spiritual books and playing games – including solitaire, wordsearch puzzles, and especially Marshalltown Monopoly. Pramila was also a remarkable cook, and she loved to make Indian specialty dishes for her family. Pramila was special, she played a significant role in her family's lives and have contributed to upbringing her grandchildren to make them better people.
Pramila departed from earthly bonds but she is going to heaven for eternal peace. We feel sad but her blessing will always there for all of us. We all will miss her.
She is survived by her children: Vijay (Anagha) Ambardekar and Neela (Shrikant) Karkare; her grandchildren: Amrut Ambardekar, Amar Ambardekar, Siddartha Karkare, and Radhika Karkare; and her great-grandchildren: Maya, Kiran, Sahana, and Sharvari. She is also survived by her brother in India, Duttatraya Ambekar.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vaman Ambardekar, who passed in 1991.
