Prater Profitt, 79, passed away on June 16, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. He was born on January 29, 1946, in Kentucky to the late Robert and Mabel Profitt.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Prater lived a full and adventurous life. He called many places home over the years and never lost his love for the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or browsing through flea markets, Prater found joy in the simple things and had a knack for turning everyday moments into lasting memories.
He is survived by his children: Barry Profitt, Eric Profitt, and Christy Profitt; his grandchildren: Shane Profitt and Courtney Profitt Matthews; sister: Joyce White; brothers: Randall Profitt and Juney Profitt; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie Profitt, and his parents; and sister: Mary Profitt.
Prater will be remembered for his independent spirit, easygoing nature, and the deep love he had for his family. His stories, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
