Precious Diana Hofbauer

Bloomington - Precious Diana Hofbauer, 96, a former longtime resident of Bloomington, died on Thursday August 1, 2024 at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine. She was born in the Bronx April 26, 1928 a daughter of the late Valentino and Agata DeGraziz Aquila. For many years Diana was a homemaker and mother to her 11 children. After raising her children and the death of her husband Frederick C. Hofbauer in 1982, she began her career with the US Postal Service. She was a postal clerk at the Rosendale Post Office for many years. Diana was also active with the Rosendale Senior Citizens, the Red Hatters, Rosendale Woman's Club and St. Peters Church Rosary Altar Society.
Precious was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She touched the lives of many with her sense of humor, kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed.
She was the loving mother of Joan Scism, New Paltz, John (Michele) Hofbauer, CT., Jeff (Rachel) Hofbauer, Texas, Jane (John) Whitaker, Saugerties, Fred Hofbauer, Saugerties, Diana Matthews, Ravena, Mary (Gilbert) Kelder, CT., Joseph (Donna) Hofbauer, FL., Linda (Carter) Hastings, VA., Joyce (Neil) Ramhorst, Mont., and predeceased by daughter Jeanette Renn, wife of Ernest Renn.
Also survived by 24 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2 to 5 PM on Sunday August 4 at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Her funeral service will be 10 AM Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Kevin Malick, pastor of St. Peter's Church, Rosendale, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Kingston.
