Preston Chad Bohannon

Preston Chad Bohannon, 42, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away in an automobile accident on Thursday, July 3, 2025. He was born in Gordon County on October 19, 1982, to Walter and Janet Benton Bohannon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carolyn Smith Selman, Rex Benton, Preston and Evelyn Quarles Bohannon; and his in-laws, Janet Dillard and Carl Elrod.

Chad was a member of Boone Ford Baptist Church. He was a talented musician, singer, and song writer, and he loved the Lord. He graduated from Gordon central High School in 2002, where he played football. He went on to receive an associate’s degree in theology. Chad brought a ray of sunshine to all who knew him. He loved deeply.

Chad is survived his wife, Victoria Elrod Bohannon; parents, Walter and Janet Bohannon; son, Trent Bohannon (Kelsi); daughter, Trinity Bohannon; brother, Eric Bohannon (Renee); sister-in-law, Lois Sanford (Kevin); nieces and nephews, McKinsey Grace Bohannon, Tyler Bohannon, Kinsey SueAnna Bohannon, Emerie Bohannon, Sawyer Bohannon, Tulley and Tinsley Webb, and Bailey Sanford. Several aunts and uncles also survive.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Boone Ford Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM from Boone Ford Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Quarles, Bro. Leamon Smith, and Bro. Steve McDougle officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Trent Bohannon, Joe Richards, Ross Quarles, Brian Chastain, Jake Benton, Jamie Burns, and Tyler Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers are Marshall Greeson, Seth Hughes, Steve Benton, Kenny Bailey, and Brent Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Twin Lakes Recovery Center in Chad’s memory. Donations may be mailed to 398 GA Hwy 11 Monroe, GA 30655.
