Pricey "Leon" May, 70, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born on November 23, 1954 in Bloomington to the late Keith May and Erma (Hall) Robertson.
He was a 1974 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. He had worked at RCA making TV cabinets, Tru Flight making arrows and at Timmerman Machine Shop, formerly ELCO. He most recently worked in maintenance at Walmart for 23 years.
Leon enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, boating, music, astronomy and being out with nature where he always made sure to care for wildlife.. When he was young, he enjoyed bowling, golf, tennis, and watching sports on TV. He played the guitar and drums and enjoyed classic rock music. He was a master chess player. He and his sister practiced with the Purdue Chess Team to help them get better.
He is survived by siblings, Emma (James) Drake of Franklin, Vivian (Jerry) Leonard of Rensselaer, Keith (Kate) May of Nashville; sister-in-law, Carrie Decker of Judah; brother-in-law, Steven Janotta of Monon; girlfriend, Tonjia Schmitt of Monticello; former wife and friend, Elizabeth McQuinn of Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Carol Porter, Sherry Janotta, Nora Foley, Linda Davis, Lisa Shidler, James Foley and Jeff Foley.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Harold Rutledge officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to a humane society of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
