PAXTON – Donald J. Provost, aged 63, cherished husband of Susan Swartz-Provost, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born in Albany, NY and raised in Rutland, MA, being the son of the late David and Barbara (Hill) Provost.
Donald completed his education at Wachusett Regional High School, Class of 1979. He subsequently enjoyed a lengthy career at Clark University in Worcester, where he held various roles including grounds and electrical maintenance, retiring in 2024 after 45 years of loyal and dedicated service. The faculty and students at Clark University, along with the owners and patrons of local restaurants, became like family to him. He cherished mornings at Annie’s Clark Brunch, where he would socialize with friends from Clark and regulars at the diner. During his younger years, he took pleasure in power lifting and became a mentor to students in his later years.
Donald was a genuine motorcycle enthusiast, enjoying back road rides regardless of the weather or the distance. His upcoming plans included riding through the rolling badlands and mountains of Montana with Susan on the back. Traveling together, mostly away from the cold, had become a priority in his retirement.
He will be fondly missed and remembered by his wife of 33 years, Susan; his two daughters, AnneMarie Weldon and her husband, Stephen, of Montana and Molly Riordan and her husband, Jason, of West Boylston; his son, Thomas Provost, and his partner, Brianna, of Charlton, along with their daughter, Ryleigh Provost; his two brothers, Danny Provost of Manchester, NH, David Provost and his wife, Tracy, of Paxton; and his sister, Ann Provost of Leicester.
To know him is to love him……...
