Dr. Purnendu Sen MD

It is with deep sorrow that I inform you of the passing of Dr. Purnendu Sen, MD, FRCP, FACP (1938-2024). A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), and Fellow of the American College of Medicine, Dr. Sen was the past Chair of the Department of Medicine at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center and past Program Director at the Raritan Bay Medical Center.
Dr. Sen's contributions to the field of Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, as well as his impact as a mentor and leader, are truly profound. His legacy at the Jersey Shore, Raritan Bay, and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in the field of Infectious Disease, will continue to benefit many generations of physicians and patients.
A multi-award winning physician, Dr. Sen's dedication to teaching and his pioneering work in medicine will be remembered and appreciated by all those who had the privilege of working with him or learning from him.
An exemplary humanitarian, Dr. Sen's love for his family and the community at large has been our prime source of happiness and joy.
Dr. Sen is survived by his wife and pediatrician, Dr. Sipra Sen.
The viewing will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Holy Cross Cemetery, 840 Cranbury - South River Road, Jamesburg NJ 08831. Cremation will follow.
