Johnson County Funeral Chapel & Memorial GardensIn loving memory of Pyare Mohan, who passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Pyare was born on October 20, 1939, in Ajmer, India, to Lalit Mohan Simlote and Shakuntala Devi Simlote. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, he emigrated to the United States in 1961, where he completed his Master’s in Engineering at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He started his career as a civil engineer with Butler Manufacturing Company in 1963. Soon after, Pyare successfully became a lifelong member of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers as well as the National Society of Professional Engineers. In 1967, Pyare Mohan returned to India to marry Priti Mathur. Pyare and Priti Mohan just recently celebrated 57 years of marriage on February 22nd of this year. In December of 2004, Pyare retired from Butler Manufacturing Company after 41 years of service. During this time, he also attended Rockhurst University, where he obtained his MBA. He was also involved in Toastmasters International, an organization that aims to teach young professionals' leadership and public speaking skills, where he won several awards. Along with this, Pyare was also a part of Junior Achievement. In this non-profit mentorship program, he helped make a difference by preparing the youth in his community for success. Pyare was heavily involved in the early years of the growing Indian community in Kansas City. This includes being one of the founding members of the India Association of Kansas City, as well as the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Kansas City. Pyare Mohan was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather to his three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Priti, his son, Amit, his daughter-in-law, Purnima, and his grandchildren, Anita, Arjun, and Simran.
