Quan Trieu

Quan Trieu, a woman of wisdom, selflessness, and leadership, departed from this world on November 28, 2023, at the age of 89. Born on July 27, 1934, in Can Tho, Vietnam, Quan's journey led her to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Quan's life was a testament to the power of resilience and the strength of the human spirit. She was not only the matriarch of a large and vibrant family but also the heart and soul of the beloved Vietnam Restaurant in downtown Corpus Christi. She passed down her passion for cooking to her children, who have translated family recipes into memories shared and celebrated by families who visit Vietnam Restaurant.
Quan loved to garden and grew the sweetest oranges, the spiciest chili peppers, and the most vibrant dragon fruit in her backyard. She loved to travel and visit friends and family across the globe, all who cherished each and every moment with her.
A mother to nine children, three of whom preceded her in death, Quan was a pillar of strength and unwavering support. Her family expanded to include 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry a piece of Quan's spirit and wisdom. She taught them the value of selflessness and the importance of giving without expecting anything in return.
Quan's legacy is not just in the meals she created or the garden she cultivated, but in the lives she touched. To describe Quan as wise, selfless, and generous only scratches the surface of her profound impact. She lived a life that exemplified the beauty of putting others before oneself, and her memory will continue to inspire and motivate those who were fortunate enough to know her.
