Queen Hester "Susie" Young Webb 68, a native of the Gray's Hill Community of Beaufort, County and daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Vanity Jiles Young, died Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Columbia, SC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 Noon Friday, July 26, 2024 at Second Nazareth Baptist Church, 2336 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC.

"Susie", as she was fondly called, was born August 22, 1955, in Grays Hill, South Carolina. On Sunday, July 14, 2024, God in His
ultimate wisdom and power, dispatched angels from glory to carry His servant Queen "Susie"
Young Webb home to rest in His eternal Home.
Susie, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and became a member of the Aphesis Apostolic Church in Columbia, SC.
Susie was educated in the local public schools of Beaufort, South Carolina, and was a 1975
graduate of Battery Creek High School. She was employed at the South Carolina Department of
Mental Health, C.M. Tucker, Jr. Nursing Home in Columbia, SC. She was a dedicated employee
and retired after 33 years of remarkable service on August 4, 2018.
Susie was a woman of great faith in God and believed in the power of prayer. She would take
time to pray and read from God's Holy Words. She was very transparent and spoke the truth no
matter what.
She loved her only son very much and he loved her. She taught him to respect his elders and
himself.
She will be greatly missed by her son, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family.
Queen was preceded in death by her loving parents, and her siblings: James, Leon, Cathrine
"Kitty", Rosetta, and Regina along with devoted brothers-in-love, Pastor Kato Rivers, Deacon
Johnny Moultrie, and Deacon Joseph Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted son, Quentin; Four brothers:
Abraham Young of Lake Placid, FL, Edward "Sunny" Young III of Harrisburg, PA, Willie
(Jerralyn) Young of Beaufort, SC, and Joe Louis Young of Savannah, Ga; Five sisters,
Prophetess Leola Rivers of Beaufort, SC, Idella Mitchell of Beaufort, SC, Corrine Brown of
Jacksonville, NC, Sarah Smith of Columbia, SC, Rebecca (David) Staples of Chelsea, Alabama;
one aunt, Louise Middleton of Grays Hill, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
