Doug was a simple but brilliant man who put his engineering degree from Case Western to good use for his entire family. He could fix anything in the house, excelled at problem-solving, and even built his family two dance studios. Doug adored his three children, Dr. Graysen Petersen-Fitts (wife Molly Fitts), Devon Schrader (fiancé Dustin Rooze), and Jordan Petersen-Fitts. In addition to his children, Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Fitts; and many nieces and nephews.
Doug will also be remembered for his love of trains and his fur children Frankie and Michael. Douglas was a true "animal whisperer" and they all loved him dearly.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. (McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, Cuyahoga Falls. 330-928-1313.)

Beverly, Jordan, Graysen and Devon: I will always remember with laughter the tales of Doug and Newman battling for the position of Top Dog, and the amazing holiday light displays that Doug put up for many years.
