Robert Edward “R.T.” Lunceford, 75, formerly of Caruthersville, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at his home in Jackson.
R.T. was born July 11, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, to Robert T. and Tommie E. (Harrison) Lunceford. He was a graduate of Caruthersville High School. He and Polly Wise were married March 21, 1980.
He worked many years at Caruthersville Shipyard, retiring in 2012, and continued to work at Stevens Farms until 2023. He enjoyed traveling with Polly on cruise ships; racing go-carts; hunting, and NASCAR.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 45 years, Polly Lunceford of Jackson; a sister, Brenda Reynolds of Blytheville, Arkansas; Polly’s brothers, John C. (Debbie) Wise of Paducah, Kentucky and Hugh T. Wise of Rockford, Illinois; a nephew; several nieces; and two close friends, Zach Stevens and Jacob Davis.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert John Lunceford; a sister, Doris Ann Pollard; and his parents.
The Rev. Doug Wahls and Dr. Shane O’Guin will conduct a life celebration service at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Caruthersville.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests First Baptist Church in Caruthersville or Elara Hospice.
