In Loving Memory of
Rachael C. Bailey (1990–2025)
Rachael C. Bailey, whose laughter and compassion touched every life she met, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 29, 2025, while doing what she loved—hanging with one of her cats, Thea, listening to music or a podcast. Her life was a beautiful blend of compassion, creativity, and connection, and her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rachael was a radiant soul whose infectious laughter could light up any room. She had a deep and abiding love for animals, dedicating her time, energy, and personal resources to their care and rescue. She shared a feral cat colony with her good friend Chuck and co-founded a Facebook group with her dear friend Ben, devoted to feline oddities and cats having existential crises—a humorous and heartfelt celebration of the quirky, mysterious nature of cats that brought joy to many.
Her generosity extended beyond animals; Rachael had a special place in her heart for people who were less fortunate. She gave freely, never seeking recognition, and always believed in lifting others up. She also had a passion for obscure music and artists, often sharing songs and lyrics with anyone she could convince to listen—always hoping they’d hear the deeper meanings she cherished.
Rachael is now reunited with her beloved son, Killian; her grandparents Karl and June Bailey and Edward and Margaret Charron; her sister from another mother, Nichole; and many dearly loved and missed family, friends, and way too many beloved animals to list.
She is survived by her father, Craig Bailey; her loving mother and stepfather, Dianne and Stephen Cooke.
Rachael also leaves behind her cherished animal companions: her cats Thea, Batman, Raul, Vaughn, Louise, Shorsey, Plop, Amelia and Ramona; and her dogs, Ruby and Sammy Jo. Many beloved Aunts, Uncles and cousins, and a wide circle of friends, fellow animal advocates, and kindred spirits who will carry her memory forward.
A celebration of Rachael’s life will be held Tuesday, November 11th, at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home on Ridgeway Avenue, followed by a gathering after.
All who knew and loved Rachael are invited to share stories and memories in her honor during the celebration.
