Rachael Lynn Cantrell, born on December 29, 1982, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 42.
Rachael dedicated her life to caring for her beloved daughter, Eris. She was deeply active and committed to the Autism Community, where she and Eris received therapy and training at the Hope Center in Detroit, Michigan.
Rachael loved her family and friends fiercely. She remained a mama's girl her entire life, always holding a special bond with her mother. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the friends and family who visited, reached out, and sent cards, flowers, food, monetary gifts, and especially the thoughtful Teddy Bear for Eris. Your love and support during this difficult time mean more than words can express.
Rachael was preceded in death by her father, Roger Lee Cantrell; her grandparents, Lawrence Windon and June Windon, and Curtis Cantrell and Opal Cantrell; and her loving aunts, Cristie Dawson and Betsy Falls, who supported her and loved her dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Judy Arzaga (Ralph), of Roanoke, VA; her daughter, Eris June Holland of Roanoke, VA; her brother, William Lincoln Cornwell (Allison), of Columbia, MD; and her sisters of the heart, Autumn Arzaga of Roanoke, VA, and Lena Arzaga of Salem, VA.
A special thank you goes out to Rachael's close friends-Heidi, Shawna, and Helen-for their friendship and love, as well as to Michelle and Zach of Valley Funeral Home for their compassion and dedication during this time.
Per Rachael's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. However, a memorial service will be planned at a later date to honor her life and legacy.
Rachael will forever be loved and remembered.
