Mrs Howieson was always a fourth graders best friend. I learned many life lessons that have stayed with me over the years. God Bless you and your family.

Farewell Rachel...I know you're close to my mom's age and you actually were my mom for those school hours in the day. I loved you and would have done anything to be your helper in the 4th grade. While in 4th grade, we moved into the 'new' building classroom. How exciting! We were so proud to get our own room and out of the future business ed. room. So glad our group was with you! You taught us kindness and love besides academics. Rest well, my dear teacher and friend.

She was my favorite teacher of all time, hands down. She read her favorite poem to us -- as I think she did to all her classes -- October's Bright Blue Weather by Helen Hunt Jackson. I think of Mrs. Howieson every sunny day in October.

I had her as a 4th grade teacher back in 1967/68. The year I started wearing glasses. At that time I thought she was old. Now I realize I'm probably older than she was when I had her as a teacher. I remember her fondly along with most of my teachers.
