Rachel Ray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Panama City on Jan. 2, 2026.
Rachel Louise (Rice) Ray, age 72, of Panama City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was born on November 3, 1953, in Edison, Georgia, to the late Thomas A. and Esther Rice.
Rachel's life was centered around love-love for her family above all else. Her children and grandchildren were truly her world, and everything she did flowed from that deep devotion. Even through hardship, illness, and life's many challenges, Rachel found her greatest comfort and joy in simply being together with those she loved. Sharing stories, laughing, reminiscing about the past, and holding close precious family memories filled her heart.
She possessed a strong and resilient spirit, paired with a one-of-a-kind personality that will never be replaced. Rachel found happiness in life's simple pleasures-watching her favorite shows, listening to stories, reflecting on days gone by, and talking about family memories that she held so dear.
In addition to her parents, Rachel was lovingly welcomed into Heaven by her brother, Thomas Henry Rice, and her beloved son, Chris Powell.
Those who remain to cherish and carry forward her beautiful memory include her devoted daughters, Amy I. King and Crystal R. Boswell; her precious grandchildren, Payton King, Skyler Smith, Jessie Morris, Sarah Billiter, Tabatha Powell, Jacob Powell, Mason Hall, Drake Fenwick, and Aaron Lowe, who were each a source of great joy and pride to her. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Opal Farless, Martin Rice, and Emmett Rice, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Henry Hewett officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service to visit with the family, share memories, and celebrate a life filled with love.
