Funeral Services for Mrs. Rachel "Denise" Shannon will be held on Thursday June 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM. in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home, 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe, La. 71291. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Following the services food and refreshments will be served at 2206 Dianne St. Monroe La.
Mrs. Rachel 'Denise "Shannon born on February 18, 1958, in Birmingham Alabama and peacefully passed away on June 15, 2025, in Monroe, La. at the age of 67.
Denise was the daughter of Dwight and Delores Brown. She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Ronald Steve Shannon. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Stephanie Nicole Shannon McCosar (Tyler). Her greatest joys included being a grandmother to Bronson Lee McCosar (Alyssa), Baylee Kane Tisdale, and Marissa Nichole McCosar (Matthew), and a great grandmother to Lorelai Lyn McCosar. Denise found deep fulfillment in family life. She cherished hosting gatherings where her love for cooking brought everyone together. These meals became lasting traditions that reflected her care and devotion.
She is also remembered by her sisters, Debra Daigle (David), Dixie Womble (Barry); brother-in- laws, Toby Shannon (Brandy), Billy Shannon (Penny), Mike Shannon (Simona); nieces, Heather Brown and son, Landon, Taylor Siddon, Krista Siddon and her children, Lyllithe, Ravenna, Crystal, Tonya, and Kaityn; nephews, Jeremiah, Josh, Michael, Caleb and many other beloved nieces, nephews and best friends Amy Baker and LeeAnn Darlingalong with several other dear friends.
A woman of steadfast faith, Denise was a devoted Christian whose belief in Jesus guided her throughout life. Her faith offered comfort to those around her through both word and example.
Denise's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing and continue to inspire acts of compassion in the lives she touched.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Daigle, Tyler McCosar, Bronson McCosar and Matthew Frazer.
