Rachel Y. Thibodeau

Rachel Y. Thibodeau, a lifelong resident of Biddeford, passed away on August 11, 2023. She was born on August 7, 1937, to Emile and Simone (Fecteau) Couture. Rachel received her education from Biddeford schools. On April 19, 1969, she married Robert L. Thibodeau at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. She was a devout woman of faith who said the rosary multiple times daily.
Rachel was dedicated to her family and spent most of her life being a homemaker, taking care of her mother, and raising her daughter. Her granddaughter, who she called Katie-Pooh, held a special place in her heart.
She worked as a binder for the Pepperell Manufacturing Company in Biddeford for 10 years. For two decades, Rachel proudly served lunch for elementary students at St. Andre's School in Biddeford, Notre Dame de Lourdes School in Saco, and Biddeford Primary School.
Rachel was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her parents; her brother Gerard Couture; and her sister Lorraine Guay.
She is survived by her daughter Denise Dupuis and her husband Tom of Lyman; her granddaughter Katherine Dupuis of Standish; her brother Armand Couture of Biddeford; her sister Dorothy Dupont of Sanford; and dozens of beloved nieces and nephews.
A Funeral outside of Mass will be held on Thursday, August 17, at 11am at St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel in Biddeford. All are invited to a reception luncheon at Dutch Elm Golf Course in Arundel from 12-2pm.
