Rae Ellen DeLance of Carmel, IN passed away March 18, 2025, at the age of 91. Rae Ellen was born in Chicago, IL on September 16, 1933, to parents Raymond and Lillian (Waldbauer) Grosch.
Rae Ellen attended the University of Illinois, earning a degree in economics and also meeting her husband Bud there. Rae Ellen was Married to Robert “Bud” DeLance for 59 years. They enjoyed traveling, birding and gardening.
Rae Ellen delighted in gardening, volunteering many hours and also tending to her own gardens and then raised beds later in her life. Rae Ellen was an active member of the Altar Guild at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Carmel.
Rae Ellen is survived by brother Glenn R Grosch, niece Anita (Grosch) Dutrow, nephew Michael Grosch, niece Janie Marchioli. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Lillian (Waldbauer) Grosch, husband Robert E. “Bud” DeLance, her nephew William Grosch and niece Katherine Mattingly.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Carmel. Place of rest will follow Memorial Service at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
