Rae Groy Obituary
Rae was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on April 13, 1957, to the late Georgia Ann and Richard Vernon Groy.
Rae, the beloved wife of 20 years to her soulmate, Robert M. Bookmiller, was the loving mother to Amanda Ingwerson and cherished grandmother to Alayna Ingwerson. She was a dear sister to Denise (Frank Fox) Stuart, Michelle Groy, and Dina (Paul McCain) McIntyre. Rae is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rae retired after a distinguished career as a manager at Bettis Atomic Laboratory. She was an intelligent, strong woman who had a full ride to Stanford in her youth. She was able to tackle any project and put together the perfect plan. In her free time, Rae was a world-class hostess who loved to entertain and cook fantastic food for her friends and family. She loved many things, most importantly animals, antiquing, and sewing. She also had a big heart and volunteered with AARP, doing taxes for older adults. Rae was a vivacious lady who loved to experience life with a good cocktail in hand. She has traveled worldwide, but her favorite place was her own backyard. She will be genuinely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317
Cherish all your memories of Rae and remember to live life to the fullest in her honor.

I am so so sorry to hear about Rae´s passing. She was a great person, I will always remember getting a Thank You card from her at work for getting the roof fixed and no more leaks on the building she was in. Also great memories of her and Bob hosting backyard parties at their house. Rae will be greatly missed.
