Rafael Botero, 79 of Wayne, N.J. passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Rafael was born in Medellin, Colombia to parents Rafael and Virginia (nee Echeverry) Botero. He came to the United States in 1968 residing in Paterson before calling Wayne his home. He worked for Bomont Plastics in Totowa for many years before retiring at Marcal in Elmwood Park. He was an avid soccer fan who loved watching games with his family.
Predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Elena and Ligia, he is survived by his beautiful wife Consuelo Botero; loving children Vivian Nebel and her husband, Robert and Edwin Botero and his wife, LisaMarie; cherished grandchildren Robert, Nicholas, Joshua and Jacob; dear siblings Saul, Jorge, Armando, and Socorro. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians Church, Paterson. Cremation will be private at the request of the family.
