Raffaella "Rae" Bauer (née Scarpelli), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Bronxville, NY, at the age of 87.

Born on February 16, 1938, in Yonkers, NY, Rae lived a life defined by fierce love, strong family ties, and joyful traditions. She was married to her beloved husband, Ernest Bauer, for nearly 70 years - a love story filled with laughter, loyalty, and countless adventures. Together, they raised four children: Donna, Cheryl, Ernie, Mary, and played a loving, guiding role in the lives of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A lifelong homemaker, Rae found deep purpose and joy in raising her family. She helped raise not only her four children but also three grandchildren and had a hand in helping raise her six great-grandchildren. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome, and no one left hungry. She cooked like any good Italian would - with love, passion, and more than enough for everyone.

Rae and Ernest traveled extensively throughout their marriage, enjoying countless cruises, trips to Disney World, and visits to favorite spots like the Nordic Lodge in Rhode Island and IHOP in Hartsdale. They especially loved going to the casino and eating out as much as possible.

Despite facing health challenges like stage four COPD and hearing loss, Rae never let anything stop her from living fully. She was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering gratitude.

Her love for Mickey Mouse was legendary - nearly as great as her love for her family. In honor of that joy, Rae will be laid to rest in something Mickey Mouse, just as she would have wanted.

Rae is survived by her husband Ernest Bauer; her four children, Donna, Cheryl, Ernie, Mary; her three grandchildren, Barbara, Nicole, and Allissa; and her six great-grandchildren, Michael, Julianna, Julian, Jayla, Ariya, and Malachi.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, sass, kindness, and the love she gave so freely.
