Rainford Poyser

Rainford Poyser was born on December 7, 1968, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Phyllis Smith and
Patrick Poyser. He was the third of four children and spent his early years in Kingston, attending
Dunrobin Primary School and Calabar High School.
Rainford began his professional journey at the Jamaica Passport Office as a clerk, later working
as a telephone operator with the Jamaica Telephone Company. His path then led him to Shell
Company, Jamaica, where a life-changing encounter introduced him to the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses. Embracing his faith, he was baptized on August 26, 1989. A commitment
that remained central to his life.
In 1994, Rainford courageously migrated to the United States in search of greater
opportunities. While studying at Broward College for his Associate Degree in Nursing, he
worked various jobs to support himself. He later earned his Bachelor's degree and became a
Charge Nurse at Imperial Point Hospital. With a deep passion for healing, he pursued further
studies at Nova Southeastern University, becoming a Nurse Practitioner around 2015. A role he
fulfilled with compassion and excellence until his passing during an assignment in Arizona.
Rainford had many passions, from a youthful love of photography to a deep fascination with
aviation. He began flight training in recent years, chasing a lifelong dream of becoming a pilot.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Phyllis, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family,
and friends.
Rainford was a man of unshakable faith, wisdom, and selflessness. His warm spirit, intellectual
curiosity, and authenticity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
