Raj J. Mehta, Ph.D., 81, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in his home.
Born in India on June 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Jaganath and Maniben Mehta.
Dr. Mehta was a distinguished microbiologist, inventor, professor, and biotechnology pioneer whose groundbreaking work influenced industries around the world. His career, spanning more than fifty years, left a lasting mark on science and innovation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Mehta was known for his humility, generosity, and kindness. He lived by mottos such as, "We are here to help each other, and you can always help, even if it is a kind word or just a smile." He touched countless lives with his compassion and gentle spirit, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and community.
