Rajan R. Nair, son of the late Kuttyamma and Raghavan Nair, was born in 1950 in Kerala, India. He was the youngest of their four children and was preceded in death by all of his siblings and both parents.
Rajan earned his Master of Commerce degree in India and worked as a defense accounts auditor in Ooty, India. He married Indira Rajan in 1977 in Kerala, and he first arrived in the U.S. in 1978.
Rajan and Indira lived in Philadelphia when their daughter, Swapna, was born. They moved to Texas for a year before returning to Philadelphia. Eventually, Rajan and his family settled in a nearby Philadelphia suburb, where they have resided for over 40 years.
Rajan obtained his CPA license and worked as a fiscal manager for Caring People Alliance. He enjoyed driving, traveling, cooking, watching football, and hosting parties with his wife. He cherished raising his daughter and took great joy in helping to raise his only granddaughter, Aarya. Rajan was passionate about football and was especially thrilled to witness his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, win two Super Bowls in his lifetime.
Rajan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Indira Rajan; his loving daughter, Swapna Rajan; his son-in-law, Sourashish Nag; and his beloved granddaughter, Aarya Nag. He is also survived by his two nephews in India, along with many other extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, May 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. A service will follow, with cremation taking place afterward.
