Robert Hart Obituary

Robert A. J. Hart of Richboro, Pennsylvania passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on September 23, 2025. He was 76 years old. Bob was born in Philadelphia in 1948 to the late Edward and Mary Jean Hart (Lauvetz).

Bob was a passionate fly fisherman and an avid skier whose love for the outdoors was matched only by his love of his family. He spent countless hours casting lines in the streams of Easton and Hellertown, often using flies he meticulously tied himself. Opening day was a sacred tradition, which he avoided every year because of the crowds.

When winter arrived, Bob's enthusiasm for skiing kicked into high gear. He tackled slopes across France, Italy, and Canada, but it was Grey Rocks that held a special place in his heart. It was there that he met his lifelong ski buddies, creating friendships that lasted decades. In the U.S., he found joy on the mountains of Aspen, Rapinoe Bay, Steamboat, Beaver Creek, Vail, and Big Sky.

Bob loved teaching others to ski, and his favorite students were his daughter Jenn, his son-in-law Joey, and his granddaughter Ava. One of his greatest heartbreaks was when Jenn switched to snowboarding. Yet, regardless of the sport, Bob always made sure the equipment was top notch.

Above all, Bob's greatest joy came from watching his granddaughter, Ava, shine. Whether she was gliding through the water at swim meets or performing for a crowd as a competitive cheerleader, Bob was her biggest fan. He was a deeply proud Pop, and his love for Ava was boundless.

Bob was an unassuming man with many talents. He was an excellent cook, had a soft spot for his purple BMW, and cherished family vacations in Ocean City, NJ, every July 4th. He embraced life fully and loved his family fiercely (especially Teddy the pug).

Bob will be forever missed but his spirit, warmth, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived by his beautiful wife of 49 years, Marie Hart (Glenn); loving daughter, Jennifer Merjeski and her husband Joey of Newtown, PA.; brother, Eddie Hart and his wife Ellen; sisters, Jeannie Muchelli and her husband John, Nancy Schofield and her husband Larry, Cookie Sorkin and her husband Dr. Hardy, Sandy McConnell and her husband Art, Cherrie Horn and her husband Dave and Necie Williams and her husband Bruce; granddaughter, Ava Merjeski.

Family and friends are invited to greet Bob's family on Saturday, October 4th from 9:30am-10:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, PA. A funeral service will follow. Interment will be private to the family.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Bob to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org.
