Rakayla Benjamin Obituary
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 7:00 am until 10:15 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Saturday.
Rev. Abelardo Gabriel, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Rakayla was born October 17, 1986, in Lafayette. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and she truly loved taking care of people. She enjoyed crafting, visiting with her family and friends, and watching old movies: her favorite movie was "Princess and the Frog." Rakayla will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Raquel Charles; father, Malcolm Benjamin; daughter, Kenzily Prejean; son, Khye Benjamin; sisters, Rakelsha Benjamin and Mya Benjamin; brothers, Malcolm Benjamin, Jr., Michael Castille and Cameron Benjamin; godparents, April Wiltz and Horace Benjamin; and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rakaden Prejean; maternal grandfather, August Charles, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Marie Ledet Charles; paternal grandmother, Mazel Benjamin; paternal grandfather, Sterling Benjamin, Sr.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
