Ralph Edward “Pa Duck” Duckworth, 75 , of Leesburg, Ga passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
Private funeral services were held Friday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with military honors.
Born on March 2, 1949 in Worth Co., GA to the late Ralph Eugene Duckworth and Hazel Edith Jones Duckworth. Mr. Duckworth was retired from both the City of Albany, GA and the Marine Corps Logistics Base. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received both a Purple Heart Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars.
Pa Duck found joy and fulfillment in the great outdoors. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, woodworking, yardwork and especially his family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was gifted with a remarkable knack for building and tinkering with any project and had a gentle and humble soul.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Duckworth Neal.
Survivors include his wife of fifty three years, Gracie Tompkins Duckworth, a son, Keith Duckworth, daughters, Laura Kim Gosa (Greg), Margie Carder (Clint), grandchildren, Graham, Katherine, Griffin, Gray, Talley Grace, his "fur babies", River and Bobo, a sister Peggy King (Sonny), Llano, CA and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials in memory of Ralph Edward (Pa Duck) Duckworth to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA, 31707.
