Ralph B. Hessling

Ralph B. Hessling, 94, of Hazel Green, WI passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI, with Fr. Tom Kelley officiating. Burial with military honors accorded will follow at St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery in Hazel Green, WI. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 16th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI; also on Wednesday, December 17th from 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Ralph was born on November 13, 1931 to Clarence & Anna (Symons) Hessling. He was a US Navy veteran, having served at the Naval Station Treasure Island in San Francisco, CA in 1955. He married Jeanette M. McGrane on May 12, 1956 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green, WI. He retired from John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA. He was a member of the Hazel Green Fire Dept. (retired), St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, VFW POST 526 of Hazel Green, WI and UAW Local 94 of Dubuque, IA. Ralph enjoyed fishing, playing euchre and cribbage, watching golf, an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and most of all, he enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ralph is survived by 3 children: David (Kris) Hessling, Kathy Zirati & Robert (Lori) Hessling all of Hazel Green, WI; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Anna Marie Hessling & Jean McGrane; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanette (March 27, 2017), a son, Mike (June 13, 1998), a brother, John Hessling, and 2 sisters: Barbara (Ambrose) Korte and Patricia "Patsy" (Roger) Shelton and a brother-in-law, John McGrane.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice & Edenbrook staff for their care and kindness shown to Ralph and his family.
