Ralph Paul Hummel, AKA Hogan, 73, of Reading, passed away on March 26, 2026. Born in Reading, he was the son of Ralph E. and Naiomi Vivian (Anderson) Hummel.
Ralph graduated from Conrad Weiser High School in 1971 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he held several jobs over the years, but spent the majority of his career working as a truck driver.
As a veteran, Ralph took great pride in supporting VFW social clubs. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the San Francisco 49ers. In his younger years, he played men’s softball. Above all, Ralph cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: John Anthony Hummel, Deanna E. Hummel, and Jason M. Hummel. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Michelina Jones and Felecia Hummel, his fur-grandbaby, Ari, and his siblings, Timothy Hummel and Holly Adams.
Ralph was predeceased by his sister, Deborah Hummel.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11AM at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends and family will be received from 9:30-11AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
