Ralph Keith Jeffries, age 78, of Canmer, Ky, passed away on February 28, 2025 at his home. Keith was saved at Three Springs Baptist Church and was a member of Hopewell Church. He was a lifelong angus cattle and tobacco farmer, and he loved watching his children and grandchildren show cattle where he traveled anywhere they wanted to go. He also hosted the Buckner and Jeffries Angus Opportunity Sale for 35 years.
Keith was a member of the American Angus Association and the Kentucky Angus Association where he was a past president. Throughout his time working with angus cattle, he received many achievements: the Herdsman of the Year Award (1991), Kentucky Angus Family of the Year (2002), the Joe Bill Meng Lifetime Achievement Award (2019), the Pioneer Breeder Award (2019) for the American Angus Futurity, along with many other accomplishments.
He was a past owner and proprietor of Log Cabin Stop & Shop, Log Cabin Oil, and Raiders Inn. He was a field representative for Pinkston Oil Co., Independent Tobacco Warehouse and Bale Marketing, where he was a manager. He also worked for Lawler Real Estate & Auction as an apprentice auctioneer for 30 years.
He is the son of the late, Homer Jeffries and the late Kathleen Branstetter Jeffries.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Evelyn Buckner.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diana Buckner Jeffries; three sons, Todd Jeffries and his wife, Denise, of Canmer, Tim Jeffries of Canmer, and Troy Jeffries and his wife, Tammy, of Horse Cave; 8 grandchildren, Makayla (Dylan Lane), Taylor, Lily, Lucy, Emily, Kyle, Johnathon and his wife, Jessica, and Camron and his wife, Kristin; 8 great-grandchildren, Landyn, Easton, Alyssa, Karter, Hudsyn, Kobe, Deen, and Thatcher; two sisters, Becky Loyall and her husband Randall, and Vickie Spradlin and her husband, Michael “Jolly”; nieces, nephews and several other friends and family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST on Sunday, March 2, 2025, again from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 PM CST on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM CST at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Locke, Bro. Ben Benningfield, and Bro. Phillip Trent officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.
