It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the sudden passing of Ralph Luther Klingerman of Austin, TX on June 1, 2025, at the age of 75.
Ralph will be adoringly remembered by his companion of almost 40 years, Cheryl Chalmers; daughter, Mia (Jim); stepchildren, Scott (Veronica), Gene (Jessica), and Cassie (Ryan); 5 grandchildren, Khira, James, Mikayla, Turner, and Makenzie; sister, Nancy (Randy); and numerous other family and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Daisy Klingerman.
Born in the dawning of "thyme", he passed in a millennium. Birthed to the northeast coast, he thrived here in the heart of Texas. Daddy-O perceived himself as an innocent bystander, a wallflower as you will. He ended up being the cog that turned this family. Everything from soccer games, gymnastic meets, recitals and Saturday morning cartoons with ice cream and soda breakfast to cooking for 35 of us during the holidays. Legend tells he looked like Fred Flintstone when he bowled. He dabbled in music and studied the stars. Not a single soul could help me with my homework. I had every excuse in the world to stall, and our father would just sit there and wait me out until Xena and Hercules would come on late night TV. He was always there quietly off to the side with a hilarious response, or a joke locked and loaded. There were times we could have an entire conversation without coherent words, only hand gestures, grunts, shrugs and eye rolls. The man couldn't swim but would always accompany us to go tubing the horseshoe where he always lost his glasses. He never hesitated to join the powwow. Don't ever let him be in charge of blowing up balloons for a party and Game nights "best bad" team player. You loved us very well.
We will always love you. Thank you for your Hospitality!
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th from 1-3 with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 3pm at Harrell Funeral Home located at 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin TX 78745.
