Ralph Larry Knapp age 89 of Curtice, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Ralph was born to Ralph Charles and Virginia (Barber) Knapp on May 10, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. He served our country in the U.S. Navy before beginning his work life at Libbey Glass. After Libbey, Ralph worked as a cement mason and later worked for the City of Toledo in the Department of Public Utilities until his retirement.
Ralph was a motor enthusiast he proudly owned and showed his Model T, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and got his pilot’s license. Loving to travel, he also had an RV that he took all over. Ralph was a jack of all trades, helping many people with projects big and small, and he enjoyed woodworking and metalworking.
Ralph is survived by his children Bonnie (Larry Beard) Grosjean, Susan Ward, Kathy Pylant, and Larry Knapp; brother Bill Knapp; grandchildren Sarah (Justin), Joshua (Carrie), Emily, Curtis (Jessica), Rachelle (Kelly), and Rodney; great-grandchildren Joshua, Dylan, Colton, Blake, Jazmine, Hailey, Mariah, Leah, Aubrey, and Jaxon and great-great-grandson Bentley. He was preceded in death by his parents, great-grandson Taylor Heslet, son-in-law Kenith Grosjean, mother of his children Georgia Buhr, brothers Harold Knapp and John Knapp, and sister Juanita Hawthorne.
A private burial was held at St. Ignatius Cemetery for the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions in Ralph’s name are appreciated to the charity of your choosing.
