Mr. Ralph Edward Leonard of Ashley, IL departed this life at his residence on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:55 P.M. He had attained the age of 85 years, 1 month and 6 days.

Ralph was born on August 21, 1940, in Chester, IL the son of John Raymond and Doris Genevieve (nee Langin) Leonard. He was united in marriage to Pat Dickson and they later divorced. He then married Paulette Glazik on November 28, 1988, and she survives his passing.

Ralph proudly served with the United States Marines. He worked as an aircraft mechanic with McDonald Douglas and was a Sergeant with the Illinois State Police, where he did undercover work and retired in 1991. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL and he was also an assistant basketball coach for the St. Ann's Catholic School from 2015-2019. In his spare time, he was a beekeeper and enjoyed working with his backhoe and bob cat and watching Nashville Hornet Sports. He loved his family dearly and cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Paulette Leonard of Ashley, IL; 4 children, Kathy (Michael) Pence, Rebecca Leonard Johnson, Jennifer (Mike) Calabrese and Jacyln (Joe) Herzog; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bruno; 10 grandchildren, Zachary (Katie) Pence, Emily (Joe) Danks, Michael (Abby) Calabrese, Cynthia Bruno, Jessalyn (Jon) Monroe, Ethan (Carli) Herzog, Tommy Herzog, Natalie Bruno, Anthony Calabrese and Dominick Bruno; 11 great grandchildren, brother, Gerald "Jerry" Raymond (Etta Jane (nee Nagel) Leonard; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Glenn Eugene Leonard and John Darwin Leonard, Sr., and son, Nathan Bruno.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 10 A.M. with Fr. George Williams Nwachukwu officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites being accorded by the American Legion Post 110.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley, IL on Sunday from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Monday from 8 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church or Friends of Hornet Football and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
