Ralph Howard MacKelvey, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in Langhorne, PA, at the age of 78. Born on September 12, 1947, in Trevose, PA, Ralph dedicated his life to his family and his work, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and an unwavering spirit.
Ralph's career as an automobile salesman and sales manager at Cherry Hill Toyota spanned 15 years, where he was known for his integrity, dedication, and exceptional ability to connect with customers. He approached his work with the same passion that he brought to all areas of his life.
A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, Ralph attained the rank of Sergeant and served on the security police force. His service to his country shaped his character and instilled in him the values of duty and honor that he lived by throughout his life.
For over 45 years, Ralph called Yardley home. He was an avid golfer and a member of the U.S.G.A., finding joy in the game that fostered camaraderie and friendly competition. Ralph had a deep appreciation for travel, particularly with his wife, Doris. Together, they explored the Caribbean and various golf destinations, creating memories that his family will cherish forever.
Ralph's love for family was evident in all he did. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris K. Reynolds MacKelvey; son, Ralph, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Dori MacKelvey; daughter, Paula L. and son-in-law, Jeff L. Poole; grandson, Sean Thomas MacKelvey; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole MacKelvey; and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his surviving family, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Robert MacKelvey and Ida Lingo MacKelvey. His life was marked by many accomplishments, with one of his proudest achievements being his remarkable talent as a roller skate speed skater.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services, 41 W. Trenton Ave. in Morrisville, PA, on December 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 12:00 PM. He will later be interred, with military honors, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, at 1:30 PM.
Ralph Howard MacKelvey, Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories filled with love, laughter, and countless stories. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will remember him fondly as a man of kindness, strength, and devotion.
