Ralph Manthe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home on Feb. 22, 2025.
Ralph E. Manthe, 80, of Kewanee, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Avenues at Royal Oaks, Kewanee. Ralph was born on June 24, 1944, in Kewanee, the son of Roy F. and Phyllis J. (Stinson) Manthe.
Ralph is survived by numerous cousins; and special caregivers, Ro Ecklund and Deb Bigger. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allan Manthe; and a cousin/special caregiver, Linda Borota.
Ralph enjoyed relaxing with his feet up. He savored his beloved puffcorn, a treat that never failed to bring him comfort. Ralph's love for music filled his room with melodies that echoed his cheerful spirit; he especially loved Elvis and Big Band music. He also enjoyed riding in the car with his family and being outdoors. Ralph was loved by the staff at Avenues at Royal Oaks and by the residents. He was crowned king at a Valentine's Party at Avenues at Royal Oaks. Ralph was entertained by the Elvis impersonator at the nursing home. His memory will continue to inspire and remind us of the profound impact a gentle soul can have on the hearts of many.
Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Avenues at Royal Oaks at a later date. (Obituary will be updated once the date is finalized) Memorials may be made to Avenues at Royal Oaks or Abilities Plus.
