Matthew "Matt" P. Manthe, 51, of Kewanee, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Matt was born May 29, 1974, in Kewanee, the son of Paul L. Manthe and Judith "Judy" A. (Entas) Hildebrand. Matt attended Kewanee Schools.
Matt is survived by his parents, three sisters and two brothers, Kimberley (Greg) Baze, Yorkville, IL; Melissa Entas, Kansas City, MO, Lori (Matt) Lassos, Freeburg, IL Christopher Hankins, Kansas City, MO, Brian (Teri) Wise, Moline; fourteen nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a special aunt and uncle, Robert "Bob" and Kathy Hefner, Creve Coeur, IL. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Matt worked for Jon DeWitte Farm Equipment Sales & Services in Toulon, selling implements. Matt put his heart into working for Jon DeWitte, he even endured the frigid temperatures without complaint when fixing implements. He worked for JF Edwards Construction Company in Geneseo; where he drove a truck. Matthew's passion for the outdoors became the cornerstone of his existence. Which was evident by him playing baseball and working on his paper route during his younger years. Hunting, trapping, and fishing were a few of his favorite past times.
