Virgil Lee Manthe was born on December 8, 1971 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert Eugene and Katherine Ann (Gates) Manthe. Virgil grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and Tyrone, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tyrone High School. He was united in marriage to Ashley Thomas on October 27, 2023 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They have made their home in Woodward since that time. Virgil worked as a Truck Driver in the oilfield for many years until his retirement, due to his health.
He enjoyed fishing, driving RC cars, playing video games, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, friends, and family.
He is survived by his mother, Kay Manthe; his wife Ashley Manthe; sisters: Linda Binkley and Edward Gay, Pamela Chadwick and husband Fred, Amber Kottman and Brandon Page; one brother Kris Kottman and Amber Sherwood; his close friend Douglas Lee who has been there for the family; other relatives and many friends.
Virgil was preceded in death by his father, Robert Manthe, Grandma Ida Biggerstaff, and Grandpa Wilbur Biggerstaff
