COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Ralph Edward "Eddie" McDaniel, a cherished husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2025, at his home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 41. Born on November 29, 1983, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Eddie was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and shared his faith with those around him.
Eddie attended Cookeville High School before embarking on a career in Mill Rights work as a hydro-electric dam specialist. His dedication to his profession was evident, and he took great pride in his contributions to the field.
In addition to his career, Eddie had a passion for football, fishing, and cars. These hobbies were not just pastimes but a reflection of his vibrant spirit and love for life, connecting him to family and friends in cherished moments spent together.
Eddie leaves behind his wife, Shawn Renee McDaniel, who resides in Murfreesboro. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Spurlock McBroom of Cookeville; his brothers, Josh McDaniel of Cookeville and Will (Rebecca) McDaniel of California; his nephew, Gavin McDaniel of Sparta; and his sister-in-law, Laura McDaniel of Sparta. Eddie's extended family includes his aunts, Betsy Spurlock (Randy) Cane of Mt. Juliet and Martha (Joe) Fell of Pennsylvania; as well as his cousins, Rachel Moore of Mt. Juliet, Chuck Slezak of Delaware, and Anna Wipprecht of Maryland. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by a host of great friends, including Omar Pimentel, Lisa Kurpieski, Eric Clouse, Blake Dishman, Ryan Dillard, and many more who were fortunate to know him.
Eddie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him. He was predeceased by his father, Samuel Dennis "Tater" McBroom; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Margaret Spurlock; and his paternal grandparents, William and Rachel McDaniel.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, May 16, 2025 from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Lee officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Eddie's spirit and legacy will live on in the love he shared with his family and friends, and through the countless memories created throughout his life. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
