Mr. Ralph A. "Papa" Porter, age 80, beloved husband to Mrs. Kay B. Porter, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 26, 2025.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Tracey (Larry) Barton, Kathy (Jeff) Clark; son, Bryan (Tammy) Porter; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister; Sadie Bell, Juanita P. (Lamar) Heath, Annette P. (Allen) Wood; brother-in-law, Edgar Trotter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Virginia Porter; daughter, Judy Wade; sister, Joann P. Trotter; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Bell.
Mr. Porter loved and cared for his horses. He enjoyed watching horse races and NASCAR races. He also enjoyed fishing. He never turned down an opportunity to spend time with his family as he loved them very much. Mr. Porter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at 1pm at Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville with Pastor Stephen Phillips and Pastor Jody Padgett officiating. The interment will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be: Koen Hester, Josh Nappier, Neil Nappier, Ronald Barton, Robert Barton and Blake Shearer.
