Ralph Ray, 91, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Henry Lee Ray and Jimmie Brown Ray, and the husband of Betty Cantrell Ray for 71 years. He worked for 20 years at Lyman Printing and Finishing until it closed and later Retired from Boiler Tube of America after 25 years. Ralph was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years and a Veteran of The U.S. Army.

Survivors also include a daughter, Teresa Schiltz and husband, Gene; three grandchildren, Brittany Eggleston and husband, Evan, Tres Schiltz and wife, Amanda, and Andrew Ryals, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Clae, Rett, Meri-Brooke, Mallory, Lilla, and Brooks.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Stacey Nicole Ray; six brothers, Leroy Ray, Dewey Ray, James Ray, DeFoy Ray, Carl Ray, and Henry Ray; three sisters, Estelle Worthy, Elizabeth Quinn, and Grace Brady.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Ken Forrester, Rev. Joey Burnett officiating. Special remarks by grandsons, Tres Schiltz and Andrew Ryals.

The family will receive friends from 2PM until 3PM prior to the service.

Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
