Dolores Yon Marlowe, 94, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. She led by Godly example and was a faithful servant.

Born in Neebish Island, (Sault Ste. Marie), MI, and raised in Traverse City, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Thelma Reich Freeman Yon. She was a devoted wife to the late James Ralph Marlowe, her husband of 49 years. After graduating business college, Dolores worked at the Pentagon with the Department of the Navy. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Spartanburg, SC. She was an avid traveler, cattle farmer, skilled fisherwoman, and a member of the Shoreswood Community Garden Club.

Dolores was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC where she was an active member of Golden Age, Caregivers (homebound visitation), Hope Center for Children volunteer, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She later attended Holly Springs Baptist Church in Inman, SC.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara DeSantis of New Jersey and Brenda Ledford and her husband, Terry of Lyman, SC; six grandchildren, Becky Cramer (Erik), Jenny Marvin (Blake), Kim Jarrett (Shawn), Emily Ledford, Danielle DeSantis, and Jared Ledford (Catlynn); eight great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Cramer, Jackson Cramer, Hudson Marvin, Henley Marvin, Colton Jarrett, Harper Jarrett, Grayson Jarrett and Presley Ledford; three sisters, Virginia Davisson of Dahlonega, GA, Gloria Ransom of Traverse City, MI and Karen McClatchey of Austin, TX. She had a number of nieces and nephews, including Elizabeth "Buffy" Ledford and Chris Davisson.

She was predeceased by two sons, Douglas Marlowe and William "Bill" Marlowe; a sister, Audrey Wagner; and her best friend, Doris Hughey.

She had many selfless, special friends: Mayna Jolley, Pam Melton, and Kathy Farinha, Providence Care, Interim Healthcare, Dr. Allen, Dr. Berry, and Upstate Community Hospice House - Agape Care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:15 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Holly Springs Baptist Church

(251 Hannon Road Inman, SC 29349) with Rev. Ben Whitmire, Dr. Tim Clark and Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens (1451 Compton Bridge Rd, Inman, SC 29349).

Memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, in lieu of flowers.
