Pembroke- Ralph Eugene Rouse, age 94 passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his home. Mr. Rouse was born in Albany, GA to the late William Perry Rouse and Mary Frances Fields Rouse. He retired from the U.S. Army as a chief warrant officer and fought in the Korean War. After his retirement from the Army, Mr. Rouse was a service manager for Caterpillar for over 20 years and was a pastor for over 40 years. He was pastor at Delesseps Avenue Baptist Church and later at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Savannah. Mr. Rouse enjoyed the outdoors and loved witnessing to people about his Lord. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Verna Odom Rouse; one son, Larry Rouse; three daughters, Juanita Pfost, Linda Dean and Susan Rouse; three sisters, Betty Spillars and Peggy Lawhorne and Merle Bridges; and three brothers, Arthur Rouse, Perry Rouse and Alec Rouse.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ivan Goodrich of Pembroke and Winfred “Wimpy” and Vickey Vaughan of Forsyth, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Goodrich (Sarah), Crystal Rieger(Jason), Chrissie White (Scott), Clint Rouse (Regina), Lucas Brewer (Rick-yia), Stephanie Hawthorne (Devin), Tyler Rouse, Jennifer Vaughan, Rachel Goodrich, Cody Goodrich, and Nikki Burroughs.
Visitation will be held 2-4 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
