Ralph started his life long career in the Ferro alloys business in Manhattan NY at Union Carbide. Over his lifetime his job enabled him to travel throughout North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. His job also produced many lifelong friendships through his endeavors over the years that filled our hearts with many great and wonderful stories. He and his family were blessed to live in New York, Texas, Michigan, and finally Pittsburgh Pa. His real passion was his family and raising his four boys. He loved playing golf for many years and found an even more exciting hobby in fly fishing. He enjoyed acting for many years at the Comtra Theater in Cranberry. He raised goldfish and African cyclids in his basement. He also enjoyed new technology and seamed to be the first one to get the new gadgets.
Ralph graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1954, he recently published the following submission to his Alumni Newsletter: "I played football for Tech. I went through freshman, junior varsity, and then I was a starting member of the 1953-54 season when Tech won seven out of eight games. It was fun. When I graduated, I went to work for a large chemical company, and I wound up in Pittsburgh in 1966 as a salesman, selling to people who made steel. There had to be at lest 3,000 foundries in the United States. At the time, I was servicing the automotive industry. One of my major customers was General Motors' Chevrolet plant in
Saginaw, Michigan. I wound up visiting iron and ore places in Tokyo, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. It was interesting to visit foreign countries and see how they were growing. I graduated from City College with a degree in chemistry. Tech was a great school for me. Its still one of the better places to go and raise your children.".
