Graveside services for Ralph Monk Watts, age 88, of Palestine are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Muse Cemetery near Slocum under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Herrington Funeral Home.
Mr. Watts passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
Ralph was born on September 9, 1937, in Jacksonville, Texas to Vernon Horace Watts and Clara Estelle Monk Watts. He had worked for Knox Glass Containers and was a retired conductor with Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Watts enjoyed the outdoors and loved feeding the birds and squirrels. He was known for keeping an immaculate yard and owned a stump grinding business called Mr. Stump. In his free time, he enjoyed computer games, country music, RVing, and jamborees. Ralph was a man with strong family values that loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Estelle Watts; brothers, Raymond Douglas Watts, Joe Mac Watts, and James Harold Watts; daughter, Pamela Gail Karsten; and grandchildren, Brandon Ralph Smith and David Adam Karsten.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Vivian Watts; his daughters, Lisa Diane Kerr (Danny), and Teresa Denise Pace (Tom); his brother, Jerry Mike Watts; his sister, Patsy June Huddleston; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
