Born in Trinidad, CO, Ralph spent most of his life in Boulder, CO. He graduated as a four-sport athlete from Boulder High School and went on to serve four years in the United States Air Force, followed by more than a decade in Evergreen, CO with his wife of 57 years, Faye. From there, they returned to Ralph's childhood home in Boulder to raise their two girls.
Ralph worked as a weatherman in the Air Force and for Channel 2 News where he was also the puppeteer for Blinky's Fun Club. He was especially proud of his character Barney the Dog! After leaving Channel 2, he transitioned into Real Estate and worked as a realtor until he retired. He received his Bachelor's in Business Management at age 50 from Regis University.
Ralph's faith in Jesus guided him in everything. He was an active member of the Gideons International and he served as an Elder or Worship Leader at every church they attended from Bergen Park in Evergreen, to Calvary Bible in Boulder, and finally at Loveland Bible Church. After moving to Golden in 2019, he and Faye attended Hillside Community Church.
Ralph is survived by his lovely wife Faye; his two daughters Melody Huisjen and Maryanna Brunkhorst; and by two sporty granddaughters whom he adored, Shae and Tess Huisjen.
His celebration of life will be held at Hillside Community Church in Golden at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 7th.

Dear Melody, Maryanna, Faye, and family
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing you after Ralph´s passing. I am praying for each of you to feel the comfort of the Lord during this season of grief.
Ralph & Faye were very significant in our lives & those of our children when they were young. Jeanne and Jennifer have fond memories of the time they spent with all of you when we needed "babysitters". Joshua, being younger, doesn´t remember it as much. Thank you ever so much for making wonderful memories together.
Joseph and I tried to donate Bibles in Ralph´s name using the Gideons link in the obituary. Ralph was such a faithful servant to the Gideons. What a blessing it was when he came to share at the church we attended in Loveland! Unfortunately, the Gideons site would not accept our donation since we don´t have any one´s address for them to send the notification. If you are comfortable with doing so, please email an address to me at [email protected] .
Due to a former commitment we are unable to attend the memorial service, but send Love, Hugs and Tears.
