Faye Celestine Rutherford Wienbroeer of Golden, CO passed away Saturday, September 13th

in her residence at Golden Lodge Memory Care after a battle with CardioVascular Dementia.

Born July 10, 1939 near Page, NE to Homer and Florence Rutherford the second of five

children, Faye spent most of her childhood on the family farm where music and horses were her

two loves.

She graduated from Page High School and then went to Wayne State Teachers college where

she earned her teaching certificate. She then started teaching at a one-room school house near

Orchard, NE when she was just 17 and used her teaching skills to pay for two years at

Miltonvale Wesleyan College. She then taught school in Newman Grove, NE before finishing

her music degree at Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma. She also spent one summer at

Bob Jones University.

During her time at Miltonvale Wesleyan College she was part of a Women's Trio that toured

throughout the Midwestern and Southern US. She was also a phenomenal piano and organ

player and was known to play an accordion and harmonica at times as well.

She met her husband Ralph while singing at a friend's wedding in Omaha, NE and moved to

Evergreen, CO where they spent the first decade of their 57 year marriage before moving down

to Boulder to raise their two girls, Maryanna and Melody. From Boulder they moved on to

Loveland, CO and then finally to Golden to be closer to their girls and two granddaughters

where they spent the last 6 years of their lives.

An elementary music teacher for years in Jefferson and Boulder Valley School Districts, Faye

spent the majority of her career at Whittier Elementary in Boulder, CO. Additionally, Faye

shared her musical gifts and strong faith with every church community they were a part of from

Bergen Park to Calvary Bible and then to Loveland Bible Church. They attended Hillside

Community Church while in Golden where Faye was embraced by the Women's Bible Study

group and loved singing with her granddaughters on a Sunday morning.

Faye is survived by her two daughters Maryanna and Melody, two granddaughters - Shae and

Tess, and her siblings Aletha Dorr, Jim Rutherford, and Trudy Elsberry, as well as many nieces

and nephews.

Her sweet spirit, bedrock faith, and generosity of heart will be sorely missed.
