Tommy Edward Caldwell, age 78, passed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025. He was the 4th and youngest son of the late Victor Lee Caldwell, Sr. and Trellis Babb Caldwell. Tommy grew up in Dalton, GA, graduating from North Whitfield High School in 1964 where he sang in the Boy's Quartet. He attended Bob Jones University his freshman year in Greenville, SC before moving to Chattanooga in 1965 to attend the University of Chattanooga. He met his wife Sharon in 1965. They both sang in the church choir and continued to do so together for over 50 years.

Upon graduating from UTC in 1968 with a BS in Business Administration, Tommy accepted a Management Trainee position with Provident Life and Accident Insurance company. This began a total career of 44 years in Insurance Management and Customer Service, including 27 years at Provident, and 14 years at CIGNA HealthCare.

Having strong values of Faith, Family, and Freedoms, Tommy was active in church from childhood. He served in many capacities, including Music Leader, Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher, and other boards and committees as a volunteer in Evangelical churches. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church from 2005 until the time of his death. Tommy also served 6 years in the Army Reserves (1968–1974) training during the Vietnam era at locations including Ft. Ord, CA; Ft. Lewis, WA; Camp Shelby, MS; and Ft. Bragg, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Williams Caldwell and recently celebrated 56 years of marriage together. Sons, Chad Caldwell and Kevin Caldwell (Shanna), four grandchildren, Savannah Collins (Jeff), Lauren Caldwell, Baylee Caldwell, Parker Caldwell, and great grandson Waylon Collins.

Tommy was the youngest of four boys and was predeceased by brothers Herman Caldwell and Raymond Caldwell, and is survived by their wives, Pat and Jan, and his brother Victor Jr. and his wife Marilyn, as well as nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and church family.

Visitation will be held on Monday 9/22 from 10am-12pm at Concord Baptist Church, 7025 East Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37421, with the Celebration of Life beginning at Noon in the Sanctuary, officiated by Senior Pastor David King. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
