Sara C. Nichols, 87, of Ringgold, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1938, in LaFayette, GA, to the late, Delma "Bud" and Louise Coe. She was an avid storyteller with a wicked sense of humor and an unmatched wit. Sara loved to read and solve puzzles. She loved to garden and enjoyed hiking throughout her life; and accomplished the climb at Mt. LeConte in the Smokies in her 60's. Sara enjoyed book club and many other activities with her numerous friends. She was an administrative assistant in the lab at Erlanger Medical Center for many years. Sara was an active member of Boynton Baptist Church in Ringgold.

She is also preceded in death by her sons, Marshall Eugene "Gene" Nichols, Jr. and Robert Lee "Bobby" Nichols.

Sara is survived by her daughters, Christy Nichols and Lori (Hugh) Harris; her granddaughter, Ashton (Nick) Hamner; her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Lincoln Hamner; and sisters-in-law, Barbara (Jack) Cooper, Sharon (Bill) Bomar and Gail (Craig) Clark; her Bailey's BBQ family in Ringgold; and a host of friends and extended family.

Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Christ Chapel Share & Care or a local library of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the South Crest Chapel at Lane Funeral Home in Rossville, GA with Rev. Keith McLeod officiating.

A memorial visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
