Robert Earl Nabors Sr.

Robert Earl Nabors, Sr., of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on January 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Kizzie Lorene Nabors and Clymer Nabors.

A proud graduate of Rossville High School, Class of 1955, Robert went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas. He built a life grounded in faith, family, and service, faithfully attending New Liberty Baptist Church and sharing fellowship with friends through the Chattanooga Car Club.

Robert was a man of many talents and interests. He found joy in reading, painting, woodworking, and building, and he had a lifelong passion for cars and golf. A devoted Georgia football fan, he cheered on the Bulldogs with enthusiasm. His generous heart and positive spirit were evident in the way he always put others first, offered encouragement, and sought out ways to lend a helping hand. He was also a private pilot who got his pilot's license when he was 15 and was a member of Civil Air Patrol.

Travel was one of Robert's greatest joys. He visited all 50 states, taking the scenic route whenever possible, and explored destinations as far-reaching as Israel and Hawaii. Wherever he went, he brought warmth, optimism, and a sense of adventure.

He will be remembered as a man of creativity, kindness, and encouragement-someone who left every person and place better than he found them.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Kizzie Lorene and Clymer Nabors; and his brother, Buford Nabors.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Virginia Nabors; children, Cindy Nabors, Robert (Darlene) Nabors, Jr., Kelly (Bryan) Lawler, Cathy (EJ) Laird; grandchildren, Cindy Lynn Nabors, Robert (Becca) Nabors III, Taylor Nabors; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Nabors and Emi Nabors.

The family will receive friends from 2:00p.m.-8:00p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 and 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, South Crest Chapel, 833 Chickamauga Ave., Rossville, Georgia.

A service will follow at 1:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Turner and Pastor Danny Henson.

Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
